An application has gone in for a caravan on the land behind the fox and dogs, claiming it is required for Agricultural use. This may well be a way of trying to get developments in through the back door. The Planning Application can be found hereĀ on the council website
I have already objected on the following grounds, and if people wish to further object they can, please feel free to adapt my words here, or come up with other objections. Keep objections polite and professional – we are going to have to keep planners and councillors onside during the upcoming planned further developments if we want to stop them.
My objection comment on the planning Site:
On the basis of the plans I object to this development on the following grounds:
- Lack of Demonstrable Agricultural Activity
The site in question does not show visible signs of sustained or substantial agricultural use requiring a habitable caravan.
- Nature and Design of the Structure
The proposed caravan is of a type more typically associated with residential use rather than for bona fide agricultural purposes. Its specifications suggest it could be easily adapted for non-agricultural functions, including overnight stays or habitation, which would not be permitted without a separate full planning application.
- Absence of Agricultural Need
No compelling case has been presented to demonstrate a functional need for such a structure in the context of agricultural operations. For agricultural permitted development to be considered lawful, the applicant must evidence a genuine agricultural enterprise and show that the structure is necessary for that purpose.
- Potential for Unauthorised Use
There is a reasonable concern that the proposed development may be used for purposes outside the scope of agricultural operations. This includes residential occupation which would constitute a material change of use and require full planning permission.
